Joni and Friends family retreats are week long camps that are for families that have one or more members with a disability, the children are paired up with STM's (short term missionaries) who volunteer(and pay!) to work along side your family, helping the children through the various activities of the day, while the parents/caregivers have various workshops and pampering to attend. The evenings are filled with activties to attend as a family.

Short Term Missionary (STM) information
Share your talent at the 7th annual Celebration and Talent Show November 20, 2000 from 7pm to 8:30pm.
Whether you are an expert or just beginning, we want to celebrate the talent god has given you.
This talent show is for everyone!!
All abilities are encouraged to participate. Children, adults, parents, and grandparents are welcome!
We will also share how God blessed the Chapter in 2009 and we will share some every exciting news for 2010!

We are very pleased with how it turned out. Being our first one we were not totally sure on how it would end up, but it ended up being such a wonderful day.
We were able to bless 13 children from 8 families and they all seem to enjoy themselves as did the volunteers from Church that worked with them.
The team is meeting to do some further fine tuning and planning but I think we’ll defiantly get another respite day up on the calendar.
The disability ministry team is pleased to announce that Bear Creek Church will be holding its first respite day on Oct 10 in the A.M.
We are still in the beginning planning stages so we may not have many answers yet,but mark your calendars and stay tuned to this site as in the next few weeks we will be updating it with more news, details and the application to fill out for your children to attend.

The Southern Oregon chapter of Joni & Friends is hosting a Square Dance and Barbecue on Thursday, Aug 20th.
All ages and abilities are welcome. This is the 7th Annual Square Dance and Barbecue where you will have a fun evening of good food and great fellowship.

A 8 member team from Church headed down to CA to serve at the 2nd Joni & Friends Family retreat in Scotts Vally, CA. July 19th-24th.
I was privileged to attend this one. It was my first time attending a J&F retreat, it is an absolutely amazing experience.
